Based on latest figures, the count of individuals reaching 100 in the UK has grown by 100% from 8,300 in 2004 to 16,600 in 2024.
Between 2004 and 2024, the number of men aged 100 or over has increased threefold from 910 to 3,100. During the same years, the amount of female centenarians increased by nearly 100% from 7,400 to 13,600.
We are eager to listen to those aged 100 or over, their relatives or companions, about what it has been like to bear witness to the past century’s major happenings and shifts.
